More of Avila

This is the convent where St. Teresa of the Cross lived for 30 years as a Carmelite nun.



This is the yard where she and her fellow Carmelite nuns would often find themselves in.


Outside the gates of the convent, you will see a nice view of the walled city of Avila. 


Since it's a cloistered convent, this wooden thing on the wall was used to transport objects from in and out of the convent.


This is the albergue I stayed at.  It's right beneath a roman bridge just outside the walls of the city.


It's a fully-equipped albergue.
